The Diary of a Soldier: Page 4

After living on MRE's (Meals Ready to
Eat) for three weeks, this knackwurst and schnitzel stand was a
welcome treat! Würstchen (their equivalent of our hotdog, sort of)!
Just recounting this story makes me
want to plan a trip back to Germany for a visit and some of their
food.
I had better give Stewart and his
crew their due. They did feed us as many hot meals as they possibly
could, and they did a damn good job with what they had to do with.

A very nice lady serving hot

Mike and I spent the entire day standing guard in
this area and some extremely nice locals, offered hot tea for our
comfort. That was the best hot tea I've had
in my life, (before or since).

erkennt, ihnen für mich bitte wieder danken." |

This
very nice man's hot tea had a little something extra in it! |
