BMW 328i |
|
|
 |
"This car ranks #1 out of all the past vehicles my wife has driven.
I think we paid $15,000 for it and four years later we sold it for
$6,900. It did require two major repairs during those years, a) new
computer $3,000 and b) transmission rebuild $2,000. Still, this car
provided great value and service."
The math: $15,000 + $5,000 ($3,000 + $2,000) = $20,000 -
$6,900 = $13,100 divided by 4 years = $3,275 Average Annual Cost
to own. |
1996 BMW 328i: This car was six years old and had 60,000 miles when I
bought it on eBay for my wife. She drove it for four years and I had to
practically pry the keys out of her hand to sell it on eBay after we got
her the new 986 Porsche Boxster.

- The BMW 328i is a well appointed sport sedan. It has a
computer display for diagnostics under the stereo in the dash that
will tell you when the car needs attention. This is a really nice
feature! It would even tell you when a parking lamp goes out. The 328i
also has an indicator that tells you when it's time to change the oil
(which is every 10,000 miles).
- If you're considering buying a smaller sport sedan, test
drive a BMW 328i. It combines luxury and elegance with performance, all
in a very nice package.
- The 328i interior is comfortable. Front seat passengers
have adequate leg and headroom, but adult rear seat passengers aren't
so lucky. Trunk room is 10.3 cubic feet which is kind of small. The 328i
is still extremely convenient. This car sold for just over $38,000
new.
- The six cylinder engine provides a lot of mid range power.
I must confess that I only drove this car a dozen times during the
four
years that it was my wife's every-day car, so I can't provide the kind
of details that I have on the other cars. I will try to add more
information soon though, so check back.
